Backup Plan Storage Limits

Backup Plan Storage Limits

When using a backup solution, monitoring storage capacity is critical for smooth operation. Once the backup plan’s storage limit is reached, no further backups—whether manual or scheduled—will be performed until storage is freed, or the plan is upgraded. Here are the options available to manage storage:

1. Auto-Delete Snapshots:

Available from the Standard plan onwards, auto-deletion can be enabled by navigating to the Subscriptions tab on your Account page, selecting Storage details in your Backup plan, and turning on the Autoclean toggle. You can customize which snapshots to delete or keep, and the Storage Manager provides an overview of storage usage.

2. Manual Deletion:
You can delete snapshots manually in 2 ways:
  1. Multiple Snapshots: From the Overview tab of the backup, click Clean up and choose to delete all snapshots except the latest, or snapshots before or between specific dates.
  2. Single Snapshot: On the Snapshots tab, click Clean up and select the snapshot(s) to delete.
3. Deleting Entire Backup: If the backup is no longer needed, move it to the Trash or click Delete. Backups stay in Trash for 2 weeks, after which they can be permanently deleted. You can restore from Trash within that time period.

If clearing storage is not sufficient or if frequent backups are required, consider upgrading your backup plan to a higher storage tier to avoid interruptions. You can check available plans and choose one that best fits your needs.

To stay informed about any issues, Skyvia email notification feature can alert you when backups fail or when your subscription nears storage limits. By default, these notifications are disabled, so ensure they are turned on to prevent any unexpected interruptions.
