Working with Mailchimp Custom Merge Fields
In some scenarios, you can encounter difficulties with accessing custom Mailchimp fields.
To access custom (merge) fields, please follow these steps:
- Open your Mailchimp connection and ensure that "Merge Fields Behavior" is set to "Join All Merge Fields";
- Click clear for "Metadata Cache" parameter;
- Open your integration and edit the Task; if fields are still not available, try clicking the Refresh button
Ensure no column filters are applied during this step. For example, buttons like 'Mapped', 'Unmapped', 'Valid', or 'Required' may limit the fields displayed.
The "Merge Fields Behavior" parameter can have the following values:
- Without Merge Fields: Merge tags are not read.
- Join Common Merge Fields: All merge tags are read, but only those shared across all lists are joined to the ListMembers columns.
- Join All Merge Fields: All merge tags are read and added to the ListMembers columns.
Note: If different lists have merge tags with the same name but different types, default values, required settings, etc., these merge tags are ignored, regardless of the Merge Fields Behavior parameter. Merge tags that have the same name across different lists must be identical to be available in Skyvia.
Feel free to explore more about this in our documentation. Here's the article that dives deeper into the topic.
