Access Mailchimp Custom Merge Fields in Skyvia

Working with Mailchimp Custom Merge Fields

Overview

In some scenarios, you may encounter difficulties accessing custom Mailchimp fields in Skyvia. This article explains how to configure the Merge Fields Behavior setting to make custom (merge) fields available in your integration.

Steps to Access Custom Merge Fields

  1. Open your Mailchimp connection in Skyvia and ensure that Merge Fields Behavior is set to Join All Merge Fields.
  2. Click the Clear link for the Metadata Cache parameter to force a refresh of field metadata.
  3. Open your integration and edit the Task. If fields are still not visible, click the Refresh button.
Ensure no column filters are applied during this step. Filters such as
Mapped, Unmapped, Valid, or Required may limit the fields displayed.

Merge Fields Behavior Values

The Merge Fields Behavior parameter controls how custom merge tags are exposed in Skyvia:

ValueDescription
Without Merge FieldsMerge tags are not read.
Join Common Merge FieldsAll merge tags are read, but only those shared across all lists are joined to the ListMembers columns.
Join All Merge FieldsAll merge tags are read and added to the ListMembers columns.

Note: If different lists have merge tags with the same name but different types, default values, or required settings, these merge tags are ignored regardless of the Merge Fields Behavior setting. Merge tags that have the same name across different lists must be identical to be available in Skyvia.
