I am trying to connect tp new RDS instance. I get the following error:

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 172.30.1.68:5432

I followed the instructions below:

Some useful information how to configure your Amazon RDS database to allow connections from Skyvia:

1) Open Security Group that is specified for your server (you can open it directly from server by clicking it).

2) For the necessary Security Group click Actions and select Edit inbound rules

3) The rules editor will be opened, click Add Rule.

4) Select the necessary instance in the Type combobox, e.g. : MySQL

5) Protocol and Port will be assigned automatically

6) For Source please set 40.118.246.204/32

7) Save the changes and try your scenario again.

Hello Cristopher,

Thank you for contacting Skyvia Support team.

Please make sure that both IPs are whitelisted: 40.118.246.204 AND 13.86.253.112.

Let us know what the outcome is.

Best regards,

Nataliia,

Hi Nataliia,

I added both IPs to the inbound and outbound rules for the security group affecting the RDS. Still receiving the following message. Thanks for your assistance!

A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond 172.30.1.68:5432

Hi Nataliia,

Our goal is to create a connection between our Salesforce sandbox instance and a new RDS on AWS.

I added both IPs to the inbound and outbound rules for the security group affecting the RDS. I made sure the RDS is publically accessible. I now get an error database "salesforcetest" does not exist," and can't save the RDS connector object in Skyvia.

Thanks for your assistance!

Hello Christopher,

Thank you for your reply.

The error states that your database is still not accessible from Skyvia.

We recommend that you contact your database administrator to configure the database properly on your end so it is available for Skyvia.

Please let us know if we may help you more.

Best regards,

Nataliia,
