In Skyvia I'm setting up a new REST connection, choosing this as the URL: https://sandbox-quickbooks.api.intuit.com

Here's the getting started for QBO for REST:

https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/get-started

Authentication, I'm choosing OAuth2

What do I use for:

  • Password
  • Metadata

Here's the documentation for one of the API's I'd like to call:

https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/report-entities/profitandlossdetail

Hello James!

REST connector can be used for data sources which are not included in the list of supported connectors in Skyvia and which can be accessed via REST API.

First, we study API of the requested data sources and, if possible, prepare all the necessary information for creating REST connection (provider configuration, metadata for all objects, supported methods, etc.).

Thus, REST connection cannot be created for QuickBooks. Skyvia already has connector for QuickBooks, please use it:

Thank you Mariia! I'm not sure if you work for Skyvia or if you are a community member. If you've used the QuickBooks online connector you'll notice it provides very limited capabilities. If you work for Skyvia and haven't noticed this, then I would like to have a discussion with your product owner. If you do not work for Skyvia then I suggest you understand that the default connection provided by Skyvia is outdated and doesn't provide many of the newest features offered by QuickBooks, such as the API I've suggested in my OP.

Can you re-review my quesiton and please provide a new answer that addresses that vs advising that Skyvia already provides this?

Hello James!

I am from Skyvia Support Team.

Skyvia works with QuickBooks Online via its API: https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/most-commonly-used/account

I.e. default QuickBooks connector is based on this QuickBooks API.

As I have mentioned, REST connection can be used only for data sources which are not included in the list of supported connectors in Skyvia and which can be accessed via REST API.

Please describe the scenario you want to implement, the difficulties you have encountered with this and the exact features you are interested in.

Best regards,

Mariia

Thanks Mariia!  I understand Skyvia does not support the REST connector to QuickBooks Online api.

Therefore I would then request that the existing QuickBooks connector be enhanced to include the data from the API's:

https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/report-entities/generalledger

https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/report-entities/balancesheet

https://developer.intuit.com/app/developer/qbo/docs/api/accounting/report-entities/profitandlossdetail

Thank you for the reply.

All mentioned objects are related to QuickBooks Online Reports. Currently, QuickBooks Online Reports are not supported in Skyvia.

We will definitely consider the possibility to support QuickBooks Online Reports and contact you when any results regarding this are available.

Best regards,

Mariia

Thank you. And just confirming, you do not support these calls to QuickBooks Online using your generic REST connector?

Yes, we confirm this, currently it is not supported.

We will post here as soon as any news regarding requested features is available.
