Hello,

We want use Skyvia for Marketing CCloud and Salesforce integrations, but we have a little issue. We need to acces to a SQL Server that it's running in on-premise (in our CPD) and/or ina a VPC AWS.

In both situations, that SQL Serever it's behind our firewalls and we're testing other providers (progress, jitterbit) that offer a "local agent" that we install in our CPD and it connects to their Cloud.

How I can do that with Skyvia?

Thanks and regards!

Some useful information how to configure your Amazon SQL Server database to allow connections from Skyvia:

1) Open Security Group that is specified for your server (you can open it directly from server by clicking it).

2) For the necessary Security Group click Actions and select Edit inbound rules

3) The rules editor will be opened, click Add Rule.

4) Select the necessary instance in the Type combobox, e.g. : SQL Server

5) Protocol and Port will be assigned automatically

6) For Source please set 40.118.246.204/32

7) Save the changes and try your scenario again.

Hi Mariia,

First of all, thanks for yoy fast answer.

In that solution, could we create a potential security hole? (someone could acces to our VPC through this IP?)

In other way, what about our on-prem SQL Servers (in our CPD) how we could acces them with Skyvia without opena n IP in to our firewalls?

Thanks in advance and best regards.

Hi Eduardo,

When working with SQL Server connections in Skyvia, the main requirement is that your SQL Server database must be available through the Internet.

Please refer to:

https://skyvia.com/resources/docs/index.html?sqlserver_connections.htm

https://skyvia.com/resources/docs/index.html?how_to_configure_sql_server_to.htm

All interactions of our UI with API are encrypted with SSL, and connection strings (for datasources that do not support OAuth) are stored encrypted in our database. We host our service in Windows Azure, so all the latest security updates are applied.

I also recommend you to look at Skyvia Security page.
