In integrations I am trying to import a CSV file from a SFTP server. The source files are created with the following format:

  • GFPVAN_RHSC_DiscreteOrderDownload_1.0_{yyyyMMddhhmmss}.csv

and placed there for us to pick up. Is there the ability to use a wildcard? aka:

  • GFPVAN_RHSC_DiscreteOrderDownload_1.0_{yyyyMMdd}*.csv

Is there anyway to accomplish this or does the system HAVE to have an exact match on the file name?

Hello Stew,

Unfortunately, file masks with wildcards are not supported. The recommended file masks are:

GFPVAN_RHSC_DiscreteOrderDownload_1.0_{yyyyMMdd}.csv

GFPVAN_RHSC_DiscreteOrderDownload_1.0_{yyyyMMddhh}.csv

Please note, it's not recommended to use seconds or fractions of seconds, and even minutes in the mask, since it's not guaranteed that package will run in exactly the specified time. When Skyvia is under peak load, package run may be delayed for a few seconds. And even if the difference of the package run time and the date/time in the file name is minor, the package run will fail.

See https://skyvia.com/resources/docs/index.html?importing_csv_files_via_mask.htm

We will definitely consider the possibility to improve file masks for such cases and reply you back as soon as possible.

Best regards,

Mariia

Marlia,

I have noticed multiple threads with this Most Recent request from 2018 and other dates that are about 3 years old.  It appears to me that Skyvia does not plan to do anything about the Most Recent file load or the wildcard character.

Your insistence that every other system formats its file in a way that Skyvia can read is fairly rigid and unreasonable when this functionality would be quite simple and extremely useful to add.

Could you be straight with us and let us know if Skyvia regards this request with any importance whatsoever or if you're just blowing it off?  I have other apps I can use as alternatives and while I do like a lot of Skyvia's other functionality, this could be a deal killer...both the lack of the functionality as well as the lack of seriousness regarding addressing it.

Can you provide a real response regarding Skyvia's view and priority on including Most Recent and/or wild cards to faciliate file imports rather than the same scripted, indefinite response that I've seen at least three times in at least three different threads?  Thank you.
