Scheduled backup not firing

I am trying to set up scheduled backups from Zendesk. It appears that the schedule is set, and I click save. But the backup never fires. If I check setting again, it appears to want to reset everything to the current time. I have checked the documents, but don't see if there is an additional step I need to do to make the schedule active, or how to see if a schedule is indeed active.
