Hi there,

I am trying to use the Excel query add-in, but the the following error message when I click the Sign In button:

"Sorry, we can't load the add-in. Please make sure you have network and/or Internet connectivity. Click "Retry" once you're back online."

I am online and have no internet issues. Doing some research online suggests this may be a security permissions issue, but I haven't been able to find what I would need to change in order to get this to work.

Please let me know if there are particular settings I need to change in order to use the add-in. I am on Microsoft 365 with the latest version of Excel.

Hello Jarret,

Thank you for contacting the Skyvia Support team!

We were not able to reproduce the issue on our end.     Could you please tell us which browser and operating system you use when the above issue occurs as well as the steps to reproduce it.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,

Hi Helen:

I get the same issue unfortunately. When I go to Microsoft's AppSource page (https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-us/product/office/WA200001764?tab=DetailsAndSupport) it says the add-in hasn't been updated since April, so I'm wondering if the changes have been published to their site?

Is the updated add-in located somewhere else?

Dear Jarett,

We have studied the problem and found that the issue with our Skyvia Query Excel add-in is probably caused by the Microsoft bug. We have commented about it on Github forum:
https://github.com/OfficeDev/office-js/issues/1867#issuecomment-849680063

As a workaround, you may switch to SemiAnnual Channel.   For this you need to perform the following steps:

  • Download the Office Deployment Tool (ODT) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=49117
  • After downloading the file, run the self-extracting executable file, which contains the Office Deployment Tool executable (setup.exe) and a sample of configuration files (*configuration.xml).
  • Select one that suits you - x86 or x64
  • Rename it, for example, to configuration.xml. Change the Channel value in this file to "SemiAnnual"
  • Run the installer with the following parameters: setup.exe /configure configuration.xml

For more information please refer to: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/deployoffice/overview-office-deployment-tool

Then run Excel, reinstall Skyvia Query Excel Add-in and try to Sign in.

Please inform us about the results.

Helen

Hi Helen,

Thanks for the follow up and reply. Unfortunately I can't move off of the current deployment settings due to organizational restrictions. If you can keep me posted in this thread if Microsoft is able to resolve the bug, that would be great.

Hi Jarett,

We have fixed the issue with Skyvia Query Excel Add-in.

Please, reinstall the Add-in, and try logging in.

If there is an error, clean the office cache. You can find more information here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/testing/clear-cache#clear-the-office-cache-on-windows

Tell us about the results.
We shall be awaiting your reply.

Best regards,

Helen
