Hello,

I try to connect my sql server database hosted on amazon rds but I have this error message :

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - The wait operation timed out.)

I don't have any IP filter for the moment, cabn you help me to configure properly the connector please.

I think the problem is on the server field, I have put this :

tcpowerbi.ca6wtacomb1g.eu-west-3.rds.amazonaws.com,1433

Thank you for your help.

Best regards,

luc

Hello Sabrina,

I have double check the documentation but I don't  where it's wrong and why the connexion is not working.

Can you provide more specific help because I wrote everything like in the documentation and the connexion is not working.

Thank you,

Luc

Hello Luc,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Please set up Command/Connection timeouts to 0 in the advanced parameters of your SQL Server connection in Skyvia.

Let us know if it worked.

In my case, our RDS filters the IP wich can be used to get in touch with the database, as the IP is hidden (at least I could noy foundit!) RDS just ignores the connection request...

I guess that if you can give the IP address to AWS RDS Sceurity, you will touch the DB

Hope this can gide you!
