Sync Issues

I've noticed an issue where records saved very close to the time of sync don't always sync. For example, I saved a Salesforce record at 4/6/2020 10:59 AM.

A sync ran at Apr 6, 2020 10:59 AM.

However, it did not sync the changes made. And, the "last modified" date in mySQL reflects an earlier modified date: https://www.screencast.com/t/wrTPT19opvr.

Is this a known issue? Or, can you advise on steps we can take to ensure this does not occur.

Hello Marcus,

Is there something you'd like me to pay attention to on that option?

No, I just wanted to notify you about such an option and the way how changes are processed with this option and without it.

Best regards,

Mariia

Hi Mariia,

We don't want to enable it because we want the connecting account to be able to make changes that will be sync'd. Is there something you'd like me to pay attention to on that option?

Thanks,

Marcus

Hello Marcus,

Yes, this should be enough.

We would like to pay your attention to the "Dedicated [CRM] account for synchronization" option in Synchronization packages:

https://docs.skyvia.com/data-integration/synchronization/synchronization-package.html#dedicated-account

Best regards,

Mariia

Thanks for the reply, Mariia!

We have decreased the polling interval to once every 5 minutes. Can we be confident that 100% of records will be sync'd now?

Hello Marcus!

Thank you for contacting our Skyvia Team!

For example, I saved a Salesforce record at 4/6/2020 10:59 AM.

A sync ran at Apr 6, 2020 10:59 AM.

However, it did not sync the changes made.

Please refer to https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.api.meta/api/polling_for_changes.htm#topic-title

It says, that "We recommend polling no more frequently than every five minutes. There are built-in controls to prevent errant applications from invoking the data replication API calls too frequently".

This behavior can be reproduced if the packages run directly after the changes in Salesforce.

And, the "last modified" date in mySQL reflects an earlier modified date: https://www.screencast.com/t/wrTPT19opvr.

Skyvia queries data from Salesforce in UTC, so all the date/time values are converted to UTC.

Best regards,

Mariia
