Hi All,

We are trying to connect to our local database (SQL Server) but even after setting the TCP/IP and Firewall as given in documentation it is not working.

Please help.

When working with SQL Server connections, the main requirement is that your SQL Server must be available through the Internet.

If connecting to a computer in the local network, it is necessary to use port forwarding.

Please contact you system administrator to make SQL Server accessible from Internet, at least from Skyvia's IP address (40.118.246.204), via port forwarding.

After checking all these points, you can try using the following format for the Server parameter for connecting to SQL Server through Internet:

Server = tcp:IP\named instance,1433

where

IP - is an external IP address of the computer with SQL Server. You can find external IP by using any site which provides such functionality. For example, https://myexternalip.com/ . You should open this URL form a computer where SQL Server is installed.named instance - your named instance

1433 - the port, on which SQL Server is listening. 1433 is a default port. If SQL Server is listening on another port, you should change it to the corresponding one.

For more information, please refer to

https://skyvia.com/resources/docs/index.html?sqlserver_connections.htm

https://skyvia.com/resources/docs/index.html?how_to_configure_local_database_server.htm

Please specify the value of the Server parameter in the Skyvia SQL Server connection. If possible, attach a screenshot of the connection editor. Also provide a screenshot with the error message.
